The Immersive Sound Project

Welcome to “Morpheus”, an experimental collaboration in deep rest. This immersive sound journey was hosted by Stewart, Javier and Charlotte, with the intention to explore deep rest and brain states. You are invited to experience guided visualisation and frequencies from various instruments in your mind and body. Recordings can be accessed via bandcamp and spotify, or below.

About your hosts:

Stewart Gilchrist

A senior registered yoga teacher known throughout London for his popular, innovative, authentic dynamic classes, Stewart infuses his high energy and challenging teachings with yogic knowledge, as well as his unique charisma, politics and humour. His classes include an emphasis on breath, vinyasa and philosophy with physical adjustments. Stewart applies the original teachings of yoga to the modern world to create thought-provoking classes.

Having studied both aṣṭāṅga and Jivamukti Yogas since the late 1990s, Stewart’s sādhanā led him to train all over the world with teachers who have had a profound effect on his unique style of teaching.

Stewart has a Masters Degree in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation from SOAS University London.  He is currently a PhD candidate at SOAS in yoga related research

Javier Rodriguez

A dynamic performer and adventurous composer, Javier Rodriguez has graced the biggest stages in Europe, created a number of groundbreaking film scores, and left a personal mark on the modern music world.

Born in Spain, Javier studied with legendary pianist Rafael Orozco before embarking on a career that would take him around the world. He spent several years as an in demand composer for both ballet and cinema, while also becoming a highly sought after educator.

In 2014, he was appointed Music Director of The World Ballet, and went on to become nominated for two Tony Awards and a Spirit Independent Cinema Award.

He has collaborated with some of the most accomplished musicians in the world, including Ravi Shankar, Sura Susso, Yaroldi Abreu, Jansen Santana, Mutsumi Abe, Helio Delmiro, and Modou Toure.

Javier is currently based in London, where he maintains a steady schedule of performances.

Charlotte Hastings

Charlotte has worked with sound from a young age, learning instruments and singing classically throughout school and into adulthood - working with the voice and sound has always been foundational to her wellbeing.

Over the last fifteen years Charlotte’s journey has traversed psychotherapy, yoga, lucid dreaming, breathwork, herbalism, sound and receiving wisdom from indigenous teachers to honour all life as ceremony. She has qualified as a yoga teacher, certified by The Yoga Alliance, and as a Crystal Sonic Therapy Sound Bath Practitioner, with Crystal Singing Bowls UK. Charlotte has been holding space for women’s circles, yoga and sound baths for a decade.

Charlotte works with Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls, her drum and rattle made in Colombia, kochi chimes and other instruments as they appear to support your journey.
